Oct 24th 2008 THE CAP AND TRADE ECONOMY

This workshop at the 2008 Bioneers conference focused on a visionary relationship between an emerging cap and trade economy and enabling land use policies encouraging the expansion of farming and carbon reduction by focusing growth and new transit systems within the I-95 corridor. A panel including architect Elizabeth Chapman, sustainable landscape architect Mitchell Rasor, Stephanie Gilbert of the Maine Agriculture Department, planner Stacy Benjamin, creative conservationist Jerry Bley and Richard Rudolph, Ph.D., Executive Director of Rippling Waters Farm and Chair of the Rail Users’ Network provided key insights into the many aspects of implementing this concept.

Oct 4th 2008 GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR LUPINE TERRACE

On October 2, 2008 a groundbreaking ceremony was held in Camden for Lupine Terrace, a workforce housing neighborhood designed by MRLD. In attendance were town officials and the dedicated members of the Camden Affordable Housing Organization.

The neighborhood design has already be recognized as model of smart growth with awards and endorsements from the Friends of Midcoast Maine, The Maine Association of Planners and the Northern New England Planning Association.

Congratulations to CAHO and the Town of Camden.
