Sep 30th 2008 COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER WINS AIA NEW ENGLAND MERIT AWARD
The Resource Center in downtown Portland, Maine designed with architect James Sterling received a 2008 AIA New England Merit Award. This plaza differs from many of Portland’s civic spaces in both the unique selection of materials and the variety of spatial relationships. In describing the project, Maine Home + Design Magazine noted, “landscape architect Mitchell Rasor’s steel benches in the courtyard slant from high to low, offering a welcoming place to gather in the heart of the city for those utilizing the center.”
